FEATURED LOCATION: The Dhow Wharf in Dubai

Stretching along Dubai's Deira Creekside, east of the Grand Souk between Deira Old Souk and Al Sabkha Abra stations, the Dhow Wharf (also known as the Dhow Wharfage) is a glimpse of old Dubai's waterfront and its bustling trading history which has managed to continue into the 21st century.

Home to colorful working wooden dhows, some possibly a hundred years old, the Wharf makes an authentic maritime setting for any production. The dhows range in size from medium to giant vessels that transport merchandise (from automobiles and fertilizer to plastic pails and cereal grains) around the Gulf and to other countries.

With many Hollywood productions filming in Dubai recently, the city has become quite a magnet for filmmakers. Movies (many are blockbusters) shot in Dubai within the last ten years include Syriana, City of Life, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens, and Star Trek Beyond.
