Druadan Farm in Zambia, Africa

Mkushi, CE 101010

Druadan Farm, a 466-hectare arable farm in the Mkushi district of Northern Zambia in Africa, is now ready to host your production. The homestead comprises of a main house with a ¾ wrap-around veranda and a separate guest cottage (both built out of gorgeous homemade local bricks). There is a swimming pool and a large garden with seasonal fruit and vegetables on the property. The farm has undercover barn space which can be converted into any film set as needed. The farming land includes 3 centre pivots, a large lake safe for swimming (no crocodiles), a stream, wetlands, indigenous forests, gum tree plantations and seasonal crops (wheat and maize).

Druadan Farm also owns an airstrip which can accommodate single engine airplanes and small double engine planes. The outlaying area is home to 80+ commercial farmers and their employees. The surrounding area includes granite rock formations (Kopjies), game parks, rivers, forests, reserves, dams, wetlands, savannah, open plains, and local villages with traditional mud huts. The climate is sub-tropical with summer rainfall November to April, and dry clear winters May to October. October is the hottest month reaching 30+ degrees, before the start of the rains. June and July are the coolest months with temperatures dropping to 12 degrees at night. Sunsets in the rainy season are very dramatic. The vegetation changes with the seasons, being very lush and green during the rainy summer and dry and arid in the winter. Mkushi town is 62 kms from the farm and can provide most basic necessities, such as banks, hospitals, post office, police station, hardware stores, supermarkets, bottle store, farmers markets, etc.

Contact Druadan Farm and book it for your next film or television production.
