Grant Wainscott, director of the Clayton County Film, Sports & Entertainment Office said that even though 2012 was the busiest year yet for film production in Clayton County with four major movies filmed here, “you haven’t seen anything yet.”

“We are looking at an even busier year in 2013,” Wainscott said. “Although I am not authorized yet to reveal the names of the films, we already have three now in production in Clayton and four to start shooting this summer.”

Location scout Tamara Patridge said one of the main reasons Hollywood loves making movies in her town is the variety of excellent film production sites in the area. There are, however, other qualities that make Clayton County a go-to film spot.

“Film producers not only like that our film, sports and entertainment office offers them a one-stop shop for film production in the county, they have all been very appreciative of the hospitality our county offers as well,” Patridge said.

Being a popular filming location also helps boost Clayton’s economy.

One of the major blockbuster movies recently filmed in Clayton County and coming soon to a theater near you is the much-awaited The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire.
