The Nevada State Prison is a recently closed facility that once housed 900 inmates.The prison, located in Carson City, Nevada, dates back to to the mid-1800's with wings built in the early 1900's and through 1970.

One of the prison's distinct features is an area called "The Cave" which are rooms dug out of large limestone cliffs and that served as a solitary confinement facility through the early part of the 20th Century.
