From Gilmore Girls to Parenthood, Lauren Graham has won our hearts each time she graces the screen, big or small. Recently Ms. Graham has signed on to star in MGM’s family adventure film Max, to be directed by Boaz Yakin. Production has already started earlier this month in Charlotte, North Carolina with plans for filming to continue through June 20.
Max, written by Boaz Yakin (Remember The Titans) and Sheldon Lettich, is based on a true story about a military Belgian Shepherd trying to adapt to his new family after losing his handler in Afghanistan. Max finds himself bonds with the 14-year-old brother of his handler, portrayed by Josh Wiggins. Graham plays Wiggins’ young mom.
In addition to shooting in Charlotte, Max will also be filming in Asheville, North Carolina.
Being a huge fan of Ms. Graham ever since my first Gilmore Girls episode, I'm especially excited to hear she's filming a feature film before making Parenthood's Season 6.
Perhaps, Gilmore Girls the Movie is next on her list? One should never give up hope.
FILMED IN NORTH CAROLINA
North Carolina was also one of the main film locations for Showtime’s Homeland. The list of Charlotte locations used in Homeland in the past is extensive. It includes SouthPark Mall (where Brody goes on a walk after returning from eight years of captivity), The Saloon at NC Music Factory (where Brody waited for Carrie in Episode Six), and Ed’s Tavern in the quaint Dilworth neighborhood (where Brody meets with his veteran buddies). Other productions currently filming in North Carolina includes Under The Dome and Sleepy Hollow.
